Job summary

Allegion, a global leader in security solutions, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Faenza to drive the design of next‑generation locking systems. You will lead mechanical and electromechanical developments from concept through production, emphasizing security, performance, and manufacturability.

You will create 3D CAD models in Creo, define tolerances, support validation and certification activities, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality, product management and supply chain to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–10 years of experience in mechanical locking systems or similar.
• Experience managing the full product lifecycle from concept to production.
• Strong proficiency with 3D CAD software (Creo preferred).
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly techniques.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and technical drawing.
• Fluent English and ability to work with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical locking systems from concept through production.
• Create 3D CAD models and drawings using Creo.
• Ensure products meet performance, durability, reliability, and security requirements.
• Apply DFM/DFA to improve manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Define tolerances, interfaces, and assembly methods for complex systems.
• Support product validation, certification, risk assessment, and compliance activities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, and Supply Chain teams.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, materials, and smart locking solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
