A global industrial solutions provider in Bologna, Italy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will enhance mechanical designs in automation solutions, engage in collaborative projects, and travel internationally. A Master’s in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of design experience are essential, along with proficiency in CAD tools and effective communication skills.

• Strong command of English language (B2/C1 level).

About the role

Frequent travel, including international business trips, may be required to support project activities and engage directly with stakeholders.

In this role, you will:

• Lead and contribute to the improvement of mechanical designs, optimizing functionality, reliability, and manufacturability;
• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for advanced machinery;
• Review and refine existing systems to meet evolving technical and operational needs;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electronics, software, and manufacturing;
• Participate in design reviews and support implementation phases;
• Travel regularly to support project activities and customer interactions.

What you need to be successful

You are a skilled mechanical designer with a hands-on, curious mindset and drive to solve complex engineering problems.

You thrive in collaborative environments and are motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible impact.

You also have:

• A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (PhD is a plus);
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design within the machinery or automation sector;
• Advanced proficiency in parametric CAD tools;
• Experience with DTV (Design to Value) approach;
• Strong communication skills, and good command of English language (B2/C1 level);
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for frequent business travel;
• A proactive, hands-on, and curious approach to engineering.
