Senior Market Research Engineer in Italy.

Key Responsibilities

• Systematic research on the European automobile market, especially the Italian market, covering policies, regulations, industry trends, market segmentation, user demand changes, consumer preferences, and new‑energy development direction; identify key signals that influence vehicle definition and localisation, and output product insights and demand suggestions for R & D.
• Responsible for the configuration, function, performance, HMI, interior and exterior decoration design trend, and user evaluation research of key competing models in Italy and Europe; support product definition, configuration strategy, and technical route decisions for the model project.
• Convert local market information into R & D language; produce product problem lists, function optimisation suggestions, configuration competitiveness analyses, localisation development requirements, and other inputs to support the HQ R & D team in developing European models.
• Assist in building localised R & D capabilities in Europe: gather local regulations, user needs, competitive product databases, testing resources, supplier/institutional resources, and external expert networks; support the preparation of future local R & D centres.
• Establish a business collaboration mechanism with the Italian Design Center, conduct joint research on European user aesthetics, interior and exterior decoration trends, cockpit experience, material colours, functional layout, etc., and promote market insight and design development linkage.

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above, major in vehicle engineering, market research, economics, business analysis, or data analysis.
• More than 5 years of experience in market research, product planning, competitive analysis, product definition or R & D support in the automotive industry; familiarity with the Italian automotive market is preferred.
• Understanding of the vehicle R & D process and ability to translate market trends, regulatory requirements, user scenarios and competitive product characteristics into product recommendations for the R & D side.
• Familiarity with the Italian passenger‑car market structure, user habits, regulations and policies, tax subsidies and new‑energy vehicle development trends.
• Familiarity with mainstream European automotive brands and vehicle configurations, and the ability to assess the competitiveness of different brands in the European market.
• Italian as mother tongue or near‑mother‑tongue level; English as working language.
• Experience with OEM, Tier 1, consulting, market research, automotive press or product planning is a plus.
