Senior Manager, Fleet & Bus Operations, MICO26 – Olympic & Paralympic Games

About the Role

As the Senior Manager - Fleet & Bus Operations for On Location during the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Games, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and optimal utilization of the vehicle fleet across all Olympic clusters. Reporting to the Director of Transport, your responsibilities include:

  1. Overseeing contract management with vendors.
  2. Reviewing and confirming vehicle allocation, scheduling, and dispatching for stakeholders, custom groups, and commercial packages.
  3. Implementing driver training and development programs to uphold safety and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet & Bus Management:
  • Manage vehicle fleet services across all Olympic clusters (Milano, Valtellina, Cortina / Anterselva, Val di Fiemme).
  • Confirm vehicle types per cluster and adjust fleet as needed within contractual obligations.
  • Ensure optimal vehicle use for various groups.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and program management to allocate vehicles.
  • Monitor vehicle availability for smooth operations.
Driver Training and Safety:
  • Develop and implement driver training programs focusing on safety, customer service, and event-specific regulations.
  • Conduct training on Olympic driving regulations and venue transport zones.
  • Assign drivers per client, ensuring consistency and professionalism.
Vendor Management:
  • Manage relationships with vehicle suppliers and service providers.
  • Monitor service levels and contractual compliance.
  • Establish reporting mechanisms for transport services.
  • Adjust vehicle needs per cluster as required.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Coordinate with Business Development and Commercial teams for vehicle allocation and scheduling.
  • Serve as the main contact for stakeholder inquiries and issue resolution.
Financial & Resource Management:
  • Manage the fleet budget for cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop strategies to minimize vehicle use, environmental impact, and maximize efficiency.
  • Track expenses and report on fleet performance.
Logistics & Planning:
  • Create comprehensive fleet operation plans with contingency strategies.
  • Coordinate vehicle allocation, routing, and scheduling.
  • Develop training and support materials for stakeholders and custom groups.
Reporting & Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to transportation laws and Olympic regulations.
  • Prepare reports on fleet utilization, costs, and performance for senior management.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven management experience in fleet and bus operations, preferably in large-scale sporting events like the Olympic Games.
  • Experience managing transport vendors and multi-site operations.
  • Background in designing and conducting driver training programs.
  • Knowledge of the logistical challenges in the Milano Cortina Olympic clusters is advantageous.
