Job summary

MainStreaming S.p.A. is seeking a Senior System Operations Engineer to lead provisioning, configuration, and monitoring of Linux-based systems across edge and application servers.

You will implement automated configurations, ensure high availability, and contribute to documentation and best practices. You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate on capacity planning, and optimize storage and networking with open-source tools like Ceph and FRR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in System Operations or related roles in high-demand environments (broadcast/digital video).
• Advanced Linux administration with hands-on provisioning and optimization.
• Deep knowledge of configuration management tools and enforcing standards.
• Experience with monitoring/observability platforms and alerting.
• Strong mentoring and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with open-source storage and networking tools (Ceph, FRR/Quagga).

Responsibilities

• Lead provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based systems across server roles.
• Automate setups with Rudder and other CM tools to standardize environments.
• Design and maintain monitoring strategies using Zabbix/Prometheus.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and share best practices.
• Collaborate on capacity planning and resource alignment.
• Manage storage and networking configurations using Ceph and FRR for reliability.
