We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to support Siemens Mobility business in Italy to be hired with a permanent contract in our Milan office.

Your Challenge

As a Senior Legal Counsel your mission will be to contribute to the business goals of Siemens Mobility and to protect the Company’s reputation for integrity by showing effective Leadership, exploiting the opportunities law provides, contributing proactively to master the business challenges, taking ownership of contract risk evaluation and preparation in compliance with the Italian Law (Codice degli Appalti), ensuring timely and efficient contract analysis and evaluation.

Some of the main activities will be:

• Counsel business partners as a trusted advisor in legal matters of high complexity within assigned area.
• Identify and analyze legal risks and opportunities, and drive solutions.
• Manage legal proceedings and claims by analyzing legal situation, gathering related legal data and setting up a salvation strategy.
• Manage claims, both offensive and defensive.
• Ensure effective legal control of agreements by drafting/reviewing and negotiating agreements in assigned area.
• File reports on material legal risks and proceedings to meet relevant internal and external regulations and requirements.
• Ensure adherence to given legal policies and processes.
• Handle outside counsel.
• Represent legal expertise and act as an ambassador for the internal and external legal community.

To be a perfect fit for this role, you would already have:

• Degree in law. Fully educated lawyer with excellent academic background.
• Professional experience in similar roles of minimum 10 years.
• Understanding of the risks of the contract(s) and the potential legal and financial consequences associated therewith.
• Deep knowledge of Italian Commercial, Civil and Public Procurement Law.
• Knowledge of general contractual standards.
• At least 3 years of experience in working on major complex projects and in their risk appraisal and claims management.
• Analytical, communication and influencing skills.
• Use of independent judgment and creativity in resolution of contract claim issues.
• Internal and external negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Italian. Good oral and written English is required. German and/or Spanish would be a plus.
• Passion to never-stop growing.
• Eligibility to work in Italy.
