Job summary

newcleo seeks a chemist to advance Lead Fast Reactor chemistry by applying inorganic chemistry principles to heavy liquid metal systems. You will model, test and characterize lead chemistry to support safe and reliable reactor operation.

You will leverage advanced experimental infrastructure and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop chemistry control strategies, study phase behavior, and contribute to European projects and tenders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or Chemical Engineering required.
• PhD in a field relevant to newcleo’s technology is a strong plus.
• Proven experience in inorganic chemistry and/or electrochemistry R&D is essential.

Responsibilities

• Apply thermodynamics and kinetics to understand mobility and speciation in liquid lead.
• Develop and use thermodynamic/kinetic models for speciation and mobility.
• Experimentally study lead chemistry at high temperature to support chemistry control strategies.
• Draft specifications of lead coolant and chemistry control systems.
