SENIOR LABORATORY ENGINEER

Purpose:
Work in the Laboratory team, within the process of NPD (New Product Development) by working within a cross-functional team in order to find new technologies, technical solutions or functionalities applicable in daily life appliances.

Principle Accountabilities:
The Laboratory Engineer will deal with the role of Development Engineer, which takes an active part in the process of New Product Development by supporting the creation of a product design that fulfills company goals, while integrating the needs of marketing, sales, and manufacturing departments.

Main Responsibilities:
He/she will:

1. Conduct experimental and research activities to add value to specific know-how;
2. Oversee and test products and prototypes, as well as pre-production & production products;
3. Write Test Reports, assisting in the development of Test Methods & DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) studies;
4. Analyze the root cause of the problem, researching new technical solutions by experimental process or through innovative approaches;
5. Perform firmware analysis and debugging;
6. Design and lead research and development programs that will improve the products and processes in the R&D organization;
7. Conduct experimental activities on prototypes to add value to specific know-how;
8. Verify that samples comply with performance and safety standard requirements;
9. Summarize results and highlight benefits of the identified solutions, sharing the outcomes with R&D, marketing, and quality teams;
10. Check consistency between functional specifications and electronic samples, using specialized debug tools;
11. Analyze the root cause of problems in prototypes and products, researching new technical solutions by experimental process or through innovative approaches.

Qualifications, Knowledge:
- University Degree/diploma in Engineering (Automation, Energetic, Mechanical, Aerospace or Electrical Master’s Degree is a plus).
- 7 to 10 years of previous experience as a laboratory engineer in medium-large companies or in analysis laboratories.
- Knowledge and testing in agreement with EN IEC60335 is a plus.
- Supervision at least at university level in one of the following fields: HVAC&R systems, Design of Experiment approach, Electrical engineering, Measurements acquisition and processing systems.
- Fluent in English written and spoken.
