Senior Java Developer with Italian (Integration & Azure)

Xebia in Italy is seeking an experienced Java backend developer to design, build, and maintain scalable services using Java 11+, Spring Boot, and REST APIs. You will implement event-driven patterns with Azure Event Hub or Kafka, and collaborate on enterprise integrations across Salesforce, MuleSoft, and Azure.

You\'ll work with Docker and Kubernetes, manage data in Azure SQL, contribute to API design with OpenAPI/Swagger, and ensure quality through testing and CI/CD with Git and Azure DevOps.

Competenze

• 5+ years of professional experience in Java development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
• Solid experience developing REST APIs.
• Practical experience with Azure SQL or other SQL databases.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms such as Azure Event Hub or Kafka.
• Experience working with enterprise integrations and distributed systems.
• Good knowledge of OpenAPI / Swagger.
• Experience with Git and Azure DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery.
• Good understanding of microservices architecture.
• Good command of English (min. B2) and Italian (min. B2).
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Italy to visit the client.
• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.
