Job summary

Tecnimont in Catania seeks an Instrumentation Design Methodology Specialist to support project engineering with expertise in SmartPlant Instrumentation and SmartPlant Material. The role involves setting up tools, ensuring data consistency, and assisting project leaders and engineers on end-user tasks.

The candidate will contribute to standard setting, train peers, and explore AI-enabled improvements while traveling within Italy and abroad as required.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Availability to travel within Italy and abroad.

Responsibilities

• Set up instrumentation software tools per CAE Execution Plan guidelines to ensure project data consistency.
• Configure SmartPlant Instrumentation for project deliverables and monitor usage during execution.
• Prepare project specifications for SPI to define its application within the project.
• Set up Typical Loops, Hook-ups, CV calculation modules and intrinsically safe circuits.
• Support quality checks on the SPI database during project execution.
• Maintain coding for bulk and itemized instrumentation materials in SmartPlant Material.
• Issue Material Requisitions via SmartPlant Material per project requirements.
• Archive electronic copies of complete projects for reference.
• Update operating standards and procedures related to instrumentation design methodologies.
• Share knowledge with engineers in the Maire Tecnimont Group on new methods/tools.
• Collaborate to identify practical solutions for bulk activities.
• Explore AI technologies to improve SPI workflows and interfaces with other functions.
• Monitor market state-of-the-art and provide tech assessments.
