Job summary

Cubbit in Italy is seeking a Backend Developer to design, develop and maintain scalable Go services for business customers. You will work on existing and new products and participate in pair programming.

The role emphasizes distributed systems, cloud services, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry and Grafana, with remote-friendly schedules and collaboration across a startup-like team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a backend development role.
• Strong knowledge of Go (Golang) programming.
• Understanding of cloud services.
• Experience with Git.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (sockets, HTTP, APIs).
• Experience with AI-based and agentic development tools.
• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Experience with Distributed Systems.
• Past experience in startup and/or similar industry.
• Past experiences with network file systems (NFS/SMB).
• Past experience in remote working with agile methodology.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Kubernetes operator.
• Familiarity with Grafana, OpenTelemetry, application tracing.

Responsibilities

• Work on existing and new products by developing software.
• Review other teammates' code and constructively discuss about changes.
• Transform technical requirements into tasks to be worked on.
• Analyze application's tracing to spot bottlenecks and issues.
