Under the general direction of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe’s GIS Manager, performs professional technical work in the acquisition and maintenance of digital data of high complexity. Work requires independent judgment in managing multiple priorities and coordinating work activities to meet schedules and goals. Duties include:
The workload ranges from moderate to heavy, serving Tribal-wide needs and possibly other agencies and the public. The environment is hierarchical, similar to tribal, federal, or military organizations. The position reports directly to the Tribe's IT / GIS Manager and involves fieldwork using GPS and UAS equipment, sometimes in remote areas. Physical activities may include lifting up to 70 lbs.
Applicants may undergo interviews and practical tests. The Tribe reserves the right to hire per its Indian Preference Policy. Pre-employment and random drug testing are required, with a 6-month orientation period.
