Role Summary: We are seeking an experienced and autonomous Senior Firmware Engineer to develop advanced embedded firmware for smart metering systems, focusing on secure software architecture, secure boot processes, and communication protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for smart metering devices
• Manage tasks independently, ensuring timely delivery of compliant firmware solutions
• Architect firmware modules with clear separation of Legally Relevant and Non-Relevant software
• Implement secure boot and download mechanisms to ensure firmware integrity and security
• Ensure compliance with standards such as WELMEC
• Integrate metering communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, MBus, DLMS)
• Collaborate with hardware, validation, and certification teams

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience in embedded firmware development, preferably in metering or smart energy
• Knowledge of Legally Relevant / Non-Relevant software practices
• Experience with secure boot and firmware download
• Familiarity with WELMEC standards
• Proficiency with Modbus and MBus protocols
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
