Job summary

Hiscox S.A. Italy is seeking a Senior Underwriter for Financial Lines in Milan to lead underwriting and market development. You will manage a profitable portfolio, focus on PI and D&O, and build strong broker relationships across Italy while reporting to the Italy Underwriting Director.

The role requires 7–10 years of Financial Lines experience in the Italian market, fluent Italian and English, and a proactive, autonomous approach to growth within a growing local branch.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Italian Financial Lines underwriting (7–10 years).
• Strong PI and D&O underwriting knowledge.
• Proven track record in profitable new and renewal business.
• Excellent broker market knowledge and relationships.
• Fluent Italian and English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal Financial Lines business per authority.
• Analyse complex local and international risks.
• Negotiate coverage, pricing, terms with brokers and clients.
• Maintain a profitable portfolio with performance monitoring.
• Develop broker relationships and market presence in Italy.
• Coach and develop junior underwriters as the team grows.
