An international renewable energy company is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant in Milan. This role involves supporting financial health through accurate reporting and managing VAT processes. Ideal candidates should have hands-on expertise in SAP S / 4 HANA and a background in general ledger accounting under ITA GAAP and IFRS standards. • Strong background in general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation (ITA GAAP and IFRS).
• Proven expertise in SAP S / 4 HANA for financial operations.
• Hands-on experience with VAT liquidation, WTH returns, and tax compliance.
• Familiarity with renewable energy financing structures (e.g., PPAs, feed-in tariffs, project financing).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent analytical and communication skills.

The Senior Financial Accountant will be a key member of the Finance team, reporting directly to the Accounting Manager and working closely with the tax and project controlling teams. Based in our Milan office, the Senior Financial Accountant will play a pivotal role in supporting our renewable energy projects by ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing VAT and WTH processes, and maintaining compliance with both ITA GAAP and IFRS standards. This role is essential to the financial health of our capital-intensive, project-driven operations, especially as we expand our portfolio of sustainable energy initiatives.

Joining the Finance team, the Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end / year-end closing. They will support the accounting for renewable energy projects—tracking CAPEX, allocating costs, and ensuring revenue recognition aligns with project milestones. The candidate will also collaborate with auditors, contribute to budgeting and forecasting, and support compliance with tax regulations and environmental incentives. Proficiency in SAP S / 4 HANA is essential, as is a strong understanding of financial operations in the renewable energy sector.
