Overview

Senior Enterprise IT Architect Data Governance (f/m/d) role at Siemens. Permanent contract in Milan within the Smart Infrastructure Information Technology Strategy and Portfolio area.

Your Challenge

As Senior Enterprise IT Architect Data Governance, your mission will be to design and oversee enterprise-wide IT architectures that are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. Ensure strong IT governance by defining standards, guiding technology decisions, and enabling compliance, while fostering innovation and operational excellence across the organization.

Your main activities will be:

  • Lead Siemens data-driven transformation by spearheading the data governance program and executing its strategy, vision, mission, and framework across Smart Infrastructure, while continuously refining governance strategies based on stakeholder feedback and evolving business needs.
  • Champion a cultural shift toward data-driven decision-making by promoting governance principles that position data as a strategic enterprise asset, and define and assign data governance roles and responsibilities to ensure clear ownership and accountability across the organization.
  • Foster a data governance community by guiding business units and support functions in establishing stewardship models and collaboration frameworks, and serve as a trusted advisor to data owners, stewards, and process owners to accelerate adoption of best practices.
  • Promote cross-domain data governance, data quality, and data protection standards and processes, preparing recommendations for relevant boards, and engaging with key stakeholders including business, strategy, IT, and Cybersecurity to ensure adherence to governance standards and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with enterprise and domain architects to embed governance into data architecture and platform design, support the development and harmonization of Business Unit data models, and contribute to initiatives related to data integration, advanced analytics, AI adoption, OT/IT convergence, and API framework development.
What we expect from you
  • Holds a degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, or Business Administration, with over 6 years of experience leading data governance and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Deep expertise in Data Governance, Data Management, and Enterprise Architecture, with a proven track record of advancing data maturity using frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, Data Mesh Architecture, and Data as a Product.
  • Strategic thinking and a growth mindset with a strong passion for data governance, ownership culture, and the ability to drive change across complex organizations.
  • Excellent communication and soft skills, including translating complex technical concepts into accessible language, collaboration across international teams, and delivering customer value.
  • Business-fluent in English and willingness to travel to actively participate in Business Unit and Corporate workshops.
  • Proactive attitude and continuous personal growth mindset.
  • Respect and appreciation of each person’s uniqueness, willingness to co-create and share knowledge.
  • Proficiency in English and Italian.
  • Eligibility to work in Italy.
