Salary: 65K-80K with a 12K bonus package

The opportunity:

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team. This role involves planning and scheduling demand, capacity, utilization, and priorities across multiple teams.

Success in this role requires excellent leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Challenge and improve team processes
  • Stay updated with new technologies
  • Support the technical design of complex systems
  • Deliver high-quality, near bug-free complex systems
  • Identify problems proactively with requirements and project plans
  • Research and propose new technologies
  • Influence the technical and business roadmap of services, products, and projects
  • Communicate effectively with self-awareness
  • Provide context and proper documentation when proposing ideas
  • Contribute to the career development of team members
  • Produce quality metrics on SDLC processes
  • Ensure team software is monitorable and highly available
  • Measure customer satisfaction
  • Lead recruiting efforts and determine team headcount
  • Partner with product and customer teams to manage scope and deliverables
  • Introduce new practices, processes, and standards to improve efficiency
  • Set clear expectations and solicit feedback from team members
  • Communicate timelines, scope, and technical concerns effectively
  • Lead delivery of major initiatives on schedule
  • Identify strategic technical debt and provide analysis for its management
  • Identify potential upsell opportunities and communicate with sales teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • 10+ years of experience, including some in a similar role
  • Deep knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, and similar frameworks
  • Proficiency in Java and Scala
  • Expertise in cloud-native technologies, IaC, and Docker
  • Excellent project management skills
