Deltatre S.p.A. in Italy is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, Data Services to lead a distributed team responsible for data platforms, onboarding/offboarding tenant data, and content recommendation workflows.

This role is offered on an Italian employment contract. Candidates must be based in Italy as we are unable to support remote working from outside the country due to local employment and tax legislation.
This role leads the team that runs Deltatre's data services: large-scale data processing, onboarding and offboarding of tenant data, and the content recommendations behind our customers' products.
As Senior Engineering Manager, Data Services, you'll set direction and review designs rather than write code day to day. This is a technical leadership role: you'll lead a distributed team, and be the senior technical escalation point for customers on how their data is handled.
Delivery and team leadershipThis is the experience that will help you hit the ground running.
RequiredThis role sits where engineering depth meets customer trust. Customers want to know exactly how their data is handled, and you're the person who can answer in plain terms and back it with an audit trail. It suits someone who stays technical enough to challenge a design or spot a cost or reliability problem without writing the code, and who leads a team spread across three regions, mixing permanent staff and contractors, without everyone being online at the same time.
People who do well here make working agreements explicit, so a team across time zones delivers predictably in writing rather than only in meetings. They treat privacy, access control, and verified deletion as engineering requirements rather than checkboxes, and they explain a technical decision to a customer or senior stakeholder in terms they can act on.
Process and what to expectSalary starts from €30,000 at entry level rising to €90,000 for those with significant relevant experience. Where you land depends on the experience and expertise you bring. If your expectations sit outside the range, tell us anyway - we're happy to have an open conversation. Internal progression is assessed through a structured process combining a technical assessment and a competency-based interview. The role falls under CCNL Commercio | D.Lgs. 96/2026.
