Job Opportunity: Electrical Engineer in Italy

An international renewable energy company is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its engineering division in Italy. The role involves supporting the design, review, and optimization of utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS). This is a key technical position within a multidisciplinary team focused on renewable energy infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support electrical designs during the conceptual and permitting phases for PV and BESS projects.
• Review and provide technical input on electrical project designs and construction documentation.
• Analyze grid connection studies and interconnection agreements, offering recommendations for project compliance.
• Evaluate electrical equipment proposals, ensuring compatibility with project specifications and standards.
• Contribute to the improvement of internal documentation processes and design standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet project milestones and quality standards.
• Ensure all deliverables meet internal quality assurance and control standards.
• Perform additional technical support tasks as needed in line with project requirements.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, especially in designing grid-connected energy projects (renewable or thermal).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with Italian Grid Code and relevant standards (CEI, IEC, etc.) for MV and HV systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical design fundamentals for utility-scale PV and BESS systems, including equipment and cable sizing.
• Experience with grid connection procedures at MV and HV levels, including TICA processes.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, and PVCase.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in Italian; good command of English.
• Chartered Engineer status in Italy is advantageous.
• Experience with specialized electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Magic, DIgSILENT PowerFactory) is a plus.
