Job summary

Antal International Network seeks a strategic, hands-on Engineering & Maintenance leader to oversee 13 hotels in Southern Europe. You will drive reliability, safety, and energy efficiency, while managing renovations, CapEx projects, and vendor contracts across heritage properties.

You will mentor hotel Engineering Directors, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with Design & Construction to meet ambitious budgets and schedules. Fluent English required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in a similar leadership role.
• Bachelor in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Proven track record managing large-scale construction and renovation projects.
• Deep knowledge of hotel engineering installations (electric, heating, cooling, plumbing, HVAC, lifts) and fire protection.
• Strong understanding of regulatory codes and energy efficiency standards.
• Fluency in English; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in luxury hotel operations and sustainable practices (LEED/BREEAM/EarthCheck).
• Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering aspects of major renovations and CapEx projects from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with Design & Construction to meet specs, budgets, and timelines; oversee commissioning.
• Provide leadership to hotel Directors of Engineering and teams for safety and proactive maintenance.
• Conduct regular property visits and audits for performance and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and manage divisional budgets (CapEx/OpEx) with cost controls.
• Drive energy optimization initiatives and integrate sustainable technologies.
• Establish and maintain vendor relationships; negotiate contracts for services and equipment.
• Support lifecycle management and technical guidance during renovations and capital projects.
• Mentor the Engineering & Maintenance team for continuous improvement.
• Ensure adherence to Belmond standards and regulatory requirements.
