Job summary

Antal International Network is seeking a Senior Engineering & Maintenance Director to lead the Engineering & Maintenance division for 13 luxury hotels across Southern Europe, driving safety, reliability and guest satisfaction.

You will oversee major renovations, CapEx programs, and energy optimization, coach hotel Directors of Engineering, manage CapEx/OpEx budgets, liaise with Design & Construction, and ensure compliance with heritage and sustainability standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a senior leadership role in engineering/maintenance.
• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering; master's preferred.
• Experience with large-scale renovations and CapEx projects.
• Deep knowledge of hotel engineering installations and fire protection systems.
• Strong knowledge of energy efficiency and regulatory codes.
• Fluent in English; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in luxury hotel operations and sustainable practices.
• Ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours include weekends/holidays.
• Proficient in project and property management processes.
• Experience with heritage property renovations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering aspects of major renovations and CapEx from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with Design & Construction to meet specs, budgets, timelines; oversee commissioning.
• Provide leadership to hotel Directors of Engineering and teams to foster safety and proactive maintenance.
• Conduct regular property visits and audits for performance and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and manage divisional budgets (CapEx/OpEx) with cost controls and accountability.
• Drive energy optimization and integrate sustainable technologies to reduce environmental impact.
• Establish and maintain vendor relationships; negotiate contracts for services and equipment.
• Support lifecycle management and technical guidance during renovations and capital projects.
• Mentor and develop the Engineering & Maintenance team for continuous improvement.
• Ensure adherence to Belmond standards and regulatory requirements across all properties.
