We're seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team and lead the development of AI and ML solutions that enhance our Seller Services. You'll be part of expanding our GenAI capabilities and scaling their impact across European markets, working with vast amounts of data to drive innovative solutions for our sellers and customers.

A successful Data Scientist at Amazon demonstrates bias for action and operates in a startup environment, with leadership skills, and proven ability to build and manage medium-scale modeling projects, identify data requirements, build methodology and tools that are statistically grounded. We need great leaders to think big and design new solutions to solve complex problems using machine learning and Generative AI techniques to improve our marketplace experience.

Responsibilities Include
  • Transform complex business problems into analytical solutions by understanding available data and identifying appropriate statistical or ML techniques.
  • Design and develop large-scale AI/ML projects and experiments from inception to deployment, driving solutions to complex or ambiguous business challenges.
  • Leverage broad expertise to recommend optimal strategies and methodologies, solving challenges through statistical modeling, machine learning, optimization, and/or other approaches for quantifiable business impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI applications.
  • Define and conduct experiments to optimize marketplace efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to product, business, and technology partners across both EU and WW organizations.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to building a strong data science and AI culture within the organization.
Basic Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science.
  • 5+ years of data science and machine learning experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.).
  • Exposure to building applications leveraging GenAI.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing complex data pipelines.
  • Experience in AWS services.
  • Experience in Natural Language Processing techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
