What you will do

You will report directly to the Chief Data Officer / Co-founder and collaborate with him to build data products that empower our customers. This involves cross-functional work with data, engineering, product, and design teams.

Our data sits at the core of our business, including money flows, bank transactions, invoices, cash register records, payables and receivables, and general ledger data. You will develop data products that utilize this information to solve customer problems.

Your responsibilities include:

1. Discovery, domain understanding, data collection, and experimentation
2. Model development (training, testing, validation)
3. Performance monitoring and iteration of existing data products

Examples of projects from month one include refining our autoreconciliation search algorithm to improve accuracy, and building a classification model for general ledger records.

What you will need

• An M.Sc. / Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related STEM field. A solid background in probability, stats, linear algebra, and computational mathematics is essential.
• Proficiency in modern Python and software development tools (Docker, CI/CD, unit testing, evals). Experience with vector stores is a bonus.
• Proven expertise in model development across various techniques, especially neural networks (NLP, computer vision) is highly beneficial.
• An end-to-end data ownership mindset, capable of building data pipelines, writing batch ETL, and supporting empirical analysis. Knowledge of Elixir or TypeScript is a plus.
• Fluency in English and Italian.
• Bonus: 7-8+ years of experience, with mentoring experience.
