Job summary

Moneyfarm is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to design and maintain data infrastructure for ingestion, orchestration, and transformation. You will build analytical data models and help decommission legacy components while ensuring data continuity for the business.

You will collaborate with analysts, software engineers, and product teams to deploy ML/AI capabilities, while promoting best practices and a strong data culture. Based in Milan or Cagliari, the role offers growth in a fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering roles.
• BSc or higher degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Experience in fintech / wealth management.
• Strong SQL and Python skills and data modeling experience.
• Proficiency with Airflow and DBT, and Redshift; familiarity with AWS.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of data infrastructure for ingestion, orchestration, and transformation.
• Build and maintain Moneyfarm’s analytical data models for performance, scale, and reliability.
• Contribute to phasing out legacy components while ensuring data continuity for the business.
• Contribute to AI-powered capabilities of Moneyfarm’s Data Platform.
• Share best practices through code reviews and knowledge sharing to grow the team.
• Collaborate with analysts, software engineers, and product teams to solve complex data problems and deploy ML/AI applications.
• Promote data culture and best practices across the organization.

About the role

Data plays a central role in Moneyfarm’s success.

Responsibilities:

• Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of data infrastructure for ingestion, orchestration, and transformation.
• Build and maintain Moneyfarm’s analytical data models, ensuring they are performant, scalable, and reliable.
• Contribute to the incremental decommissioning of legacy components while ensuring data continuity for the business.
• Contribute to AI powered capabilities of Moneyfarm’s Data Platform.
• Share best practices through code reviews and knowledge sharing, supporting the growth of the team.
• Work closely with analysts, software engineers, and product teams to solve complex data problems and deploy ML/AI applications.
• Bring positive impact to Moneyfarm data culture by sharing knowledge and promoting best practices
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering roles
• BSc or higher degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
• Experience in fintech / wealth management

Skills

• Deep proficiency in SQL and Python
• Meaningful experience with Airflow and DBT
• Strong experience with Redshift (BigQuery is a plus)
• Experience with AWS and familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
• Comfortable integrating AI tooling in daily workExcellent written and verbal communications skills, also with non technical stakeholders
• Ability to translate business requirements into well-designed data solutions
• Comfortable working in iterative environments balancing quality and delivery
• Fluency in English is essential (most stakeholders are UK based).

This role can be based in our offices in Milan or Cagliari.

Level & Compensation:

We apply CCNL Credito and based on candidate’s experience and skills, we will assign the title of Senior Data Engineer.

Salary range: €45,000 - €65,000 gross/year + bonus, based on experience/competences demonstrated
