Job summary

Moneyfarm, a pan-European digital wealth manager, is hiring a Senior Data Engineer. You will design and maintain data infrastructure (in ingestion, orchestration, and transformation), build analytical data models, and help decommission legacy components while ensuring data continuity.

You’ll collaborate with analysts, engineers, and product teams to deploy ML/AI applications, contributing to a data-driven culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering
• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
• Experience in fintech / wealth management is a plus

Responsibilities

• Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of data infrastructure for ingestion, orchestration, and transformation
• Build and maintain analytical data models, ensuring they are performant, scalable, and reliable
• Contribute to decommissioning legacy components while ensuring data continuity
• Contribute to AI powered capabilities of Moneyfarm’s Data Platform
• Share best practices through code reviews and knowledge sharing
• Work closely with analysts, software engineers, and product teams to solve complex data problems and deploy ML/AI applications
• Promote data culture and best practices across the team

About the role

Data plays a central role in Moneyfarm’s success.

Are you excited about launching a new product and building data pipelines from scratch? Are you ready to help us fine tune our Redshift + Airflow + DBT data platform while decommissioning legacy components? If you are a builder with a tilt for future‑proof solutions, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of data infrastructure for ingestion, orchestration, and transformation.
• Build and maintain Moneyfarm’s analytical data models, ensuring they are performant, scalable, and reliable.
• Contribute to the incremental decommissioning of legacy components while ensuring data continuity for the business.
• Contribute to AI powered capabilities of Moneyfarm’s Data Platform.
• Share best practices through code reviews and knowledge sharing, supporting the growth of the team.
• Work closely with analysts, software engineers, and product teams to solve complex data problems and deploy ML/AI applications.
• Bring positive impact to Moneyfarm data culture by sharing knowledge and promoting best practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering roles
• BSc or higher degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
• Experience in fintech / wealth management

Skills

• Deep proficiency in SQL and Python
• Meaningful experience with Airflow and DBT
• Strong experience with Redshift (BigQuery is a plus)
• Experience with AWS and familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
• Comfortable integrating AI tooling in daily work
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, also with non technical stakeholders
• Ability to translate business requirements into well‑designed data solutions
• Comfortable working in iterative environments balancing quality and delivery
• Fluency in English is essential (most stakeholders are UK based).

This role can be based in our offices in Milan or Cagliari.

We apply CCNL Credito and based on candidate's experience and skills, we will assign the title of Senior Data Engineer.

Salary range: €45,000 – €65,000 gross/year + bonus, based on experience/competences demonstrated
