ABOUT THE ROLE :

In the highly competitive world of sports, effective marketing strategies are essential to communicate offerings to diverse audiences and communities. Nielsen Sports provides vital services to clients, helping them measure, analyze, and interpret the effectiveness of their investments to make strategic decisions.

As part of the International Consulting group at Nielsen Sports, you will work closely with some of the world’s largest sports and entertainment rights holders, brands, agencies, and broadcasters worldwide, assisting them in solving various commercial challenges.

Our projects are diverse, including commercial strategy, rights package creation, go-to-market strategies, event impact analysis, sponsorship evaluation, ROI modeling, and broadcast rights valuation. Besides analytical skills, you'll need excellent problem definition, strategic planning, and storytelling abilities to translate analysis results into compelling insights that add value for our clients.

The role is based in Milano. We encourage working from there to foster collaboration and learning, but offer a flexible hybrid working arrangement for those interested.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently analyze data and present findings to clients alongside experienced team members.
  • Transform data into compelling stories delivering meaningful insights and value.
  • Participate in various market research projects, including single/multi-country ad hoc, tracking, and syndicated studies.
  • Understand client challenges and tailor solutions to meet their business objectives.
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients.
  • Utilize project planning and management tools to organize and track your projects.
  • Collaborate across Nielsen Sports and external data sources to create bespoke analyses addressing strategic client questions.
  • Continuously expand your knowledge of clients, the sports industry, and media and advertising landscapes to offer effective solutions.
  • Contribute to improving our services and products through automation and process enhancements.
Key Skills:
  • Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken)
  • At least 4 years of experience in strategy and/or management consulting at a top firm or within the sports industry, managing analytical projects and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools like Power BI is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of research methodologies, statistical techniques, and data analysis principles.
  • Experience with Digital Analytics tools is preferable.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, sports management, marketing, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of the global media and sports ecosystem, including measurement and advertising platforms.
