Chi Square Economics in Rome is seeking a Senior Consultant to take ownership of competition economics projects and drive case strategy from inception to delivery.

You will work directly with clients and Partners, manage junior economists, and contribute to high-profile European Commission and public enforcement matters, with a genuinely flexible remote-working arrangement.

Competenze

• 3–5+ years’ experience within an economic consultancy.
• Strong background in competition economics, antitrust or merger economics.
• Native/Fluent Italian

• Lead and manage competition economics projects from inception through to delivery.
• Develop economic analysis and contribute to case strategy.

Senior Consultant | Competition Economics | Rome

We are currently supporting a leading independent economic consultancy, specialising in competition, antitrust and regulatory economics, with the appointment of a Senior Economist to join their Rome office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced competition economist to join a high quality team and take genuine ownership of cases, working closely with Partners while developing client relationships and managing junior economists.

The Role:

This is a role offering real responsibility and autonomy from the outset, rather than simply supporting more senior economists.

• Take ownership of projects and case strategy
• Work directly with clients and senior stakeholders
• Manage and develop junior economists
• Gain exposure to complex European competition and regulatory matters
• Work closely with Partners on high profile cases
• Benefit from a genuinely flexible working arrangement

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage competition economics projects from inception through to delivery
• Develop economic analysis and contribute to case strategy
• Manage client relationships and act as a key point of contact

Key Skills & Experience

• 3-5+ years’ experience within an economic consultancy
• Strong background in competition economics, antitrust or merger economics
• Comfortable managing client relationships and junior team members
• Strong technical economic and analytical skills
• Previous experience within a competition authority alongside consultancy experience would also be of interest
• Native/Fluent Italian
