Compass Lexecon is seeking junior economists for internships in Milan to gain hands-on experience in competition policy, regulation, and damages assessments. You will work closely with senior staff on high-profile cases before European authorities, applying economics theory to real-world evidence.

Ideal candidates are pursuing or have completed a Master’s or PhD in economics, are highly analytical, fluent in English, and capable of teamwork.

About the role

We pride ourselves on providing Interns with an opportunity to make a significant impact from day one. As an Intern you will gain extensive hands‑on experience of working at an economic consultancy. You will contribute to cases in a variety of ways, working closely with senior staff to understand the issues that face the client, relating those issues to relevant economic theory, and supporting the analysis with solid and persuasive empirical evidence. Interns typically join us in Milan for 3-6 months during, in between or shortly after completing their masters in Economics. Please indicate in your cover letter when you would be available to start your internship. For those applying whilst completing their Bachelor’s degree, please note that our Intern candidates are usually hired in Milan during their Master’s. We would consider only exceptional Bachelor’s students. If you are undertaking your undergraduate degree and are unsuccessful in your application, we would encourage you to apply again next year.
