Job summary

FAO in Rome seeks a Senior Natural Resources Officer to lead the FAO-GCF partnership within the Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environment. The role focuses on strategic guidance, portfolio development and donor relations to accelerate climate action in agrifood systems.

The candidate will supervise multidisciplinary teams, manage complex programmes and ensure high-quality reporting while engaging with FAO decentralized offices and international partners.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in natural resources management or a related field.
• Ten years of climate change programme management experience with an international organization.
• English advanced; another FAO official language at least intermediate.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage or lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate activities across offices.
• Develop and manage the FAO-GCF and FRLD portfolios in alignment with FAO strategy.
• Ensure quality and alignment of documents submitted to GCF/FRLD and FAO reporting.
• Lead capacity development and knowledge sharing with FAO Members and partners.
