Senior Civil / Structural and System Auxiliary Lead Engineer

Join our team as a Senior Civil / Structural and System Auxiliary Lead Engineer . This role involves coordinating infrastructure design, excavation, cable way, module building, and auxiliary systems in the railway sector. You will manage technical interfaces, on-site modifications, and ensure compliance with contractual and system requirements. The position requires client interaction, safety risk management, technical documentation preparation (FAT, PICO, SAT), and supervision of in-house and outsourced activities. Experience in railway civil design, proficiency in AutoCAD, traceability tools, strong organizational skills, teamwork, and fluency in English are essential.

You will work on cutting-edge projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate infrastructure design, delegate tasks, and ensure project quality and consistency.
• Develop and implement design strategies to meet project outcomes.
• Oversee project compliance with contract and system requirements.
• Manage site modifications, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
• Resolve technical interface issues between infrastructure and technological systems.
• Manage infrastructure interfaces with contractors.
• Act as the primary contact for technical matters with clients and stakeholders.
• Assess safety risks and manage design-related safety budgets.
• Coordinate design and commissioning activities, including FAT, PICO, and SAT documentation.
• Knowledge of BIM is a plus.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in railway infrastructure projects, especially in construction and civil installation design. Experience in brownfield projects is a plus.
• Ability to identify and overcome design challenges.
• Familiarity with Requirement Traceability Matrix and Interface Registers tools.
• Experience managing contractors and ensuring compliance.
• Attention to detail, deadlines, and self-motivation.
• Adaptability to changing project priorities.
• Construction environment experience is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office; knowledge of Autodesk Revit or 3D software is a plus.
• Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or equivalent technical background.
• Professional Engineer license in Civil and Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
• Availability for international travel (8-10 trips per year, about 3 days each), focusing on the Central Europe market.
