SENIOR CAD DESIGNER AND FEM ANALYST AT AURYN AERO

Position Overview

Auryn Aero is seeking an experienced Senior CAD Designer and FEM Analyst to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CAD design, finite element analysis (FEA), and a strong background in aerospace applications. This role involves designing, analyzing, and optimizing components and systems for our state-of-the-art UAVs.

Key Responsibilities
  • CAD Design: Develop detailed 3D models and technical drawings for UAV components and systems using SolidWorks and CATIA V5 software suites.
  • Finite Element Analysis: Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate and optimize the structural performance of components and assemblies.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with mechanical engineers, software developers, and other team members to ensure design specifications and performance criteria are met.
  • Prototype Development: Contribute to the development of prototypes and support the transition from design to manufacturing.
  • Design Optimization: Identify opportunities for weight reduction, cost savings, and performance improvements through advanced simulation and analysis techniques.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports detailing analysis results, design modifications, and recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in CAD design with proficiency in SolidWorks and CATIA V5, and finite element analysis using software like ANSYS or Abaqus.
  • Aerospace Knowledge: Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Communication and Documentation: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create clear technical documentation.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in design and analysis tasks.
