Senior Global Buyer will support the Category Manager responsible for IT & Digital spend activities within Angelini Pharma. The ideal candidate will have sourcing experience across a broad range of indirect categories, preferably in IT.

Job Description and Responsibilities

The Senior Global Buyer should be committed and highly motivated, with experience in negotiation and relationship management. They will work closely with senior stakeholders across multiple IT areas, including Infrastructure, Service Delivery, Cyber Security, Data & Analytics, and Digital Innovation, with full procurement accountability and ownership of projects from start to finish.

They will be responsible for leading and managing all commercial and contractual interactions with external suppliers.

Key tasks include:

  • Engaging proactively with internal stakeholders to understand and gather business needs and requirements.
  • Managing the end-to-end procurement process (RFI, RFP, RFQ, contract drafting & negotiation, supplier & stakeholder management) for Digital and IT spend.
  • Developing sourcing plans based on internal requirements, supply market analysis, and cost models.
  • Contributing to the definition of multiyear Digital and IT category strategies.
  • Implementing local, regional, and global sourcing initiatives and leading cross-functional sourcing teams.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost reduction, process simplification, operational synergy, and value capture across countries and categories.
  • Operating within the boundaries of the Global Procurement Policy.

Qualifications

Education:

  • An academic background in Business, Finance, or related fields is strongly preferred. An MBA or Postgraduate degree is desirable.

Skills Required:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in strategic sourcing or procurement roles within complex organizations. Strong category experience in indirect procurement, with IT background as a plus.
  • Proficiency in business software (Excel, PowerPoint) as an advanced user. Quick learner of analytical tools.
  • Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
  • Deep knowledge of negotiation techniques and sourcing strategies to optimize value.
  • Effective communication skills to serve customers and ensure compliance with sourcing standards.
  • Strong interpersonal, project management, and influencing skills within team environments.
  • Ability to present sourcing strategies and decisions confidently to leadership and contribute to global sourcing teams.
  • Experience in building relationships across departments and external stakeholders, with excellent presentation and reporting skills.
  • Competency in using procurement tools and reporting systems like SAP.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and digital skills with a logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Intermediate understanding of legal frameworks and contract development.
  • Keen to thrive in a high-performance, demanding environment.
