Role Overview

We are seeking a high-calibre Business Development Consultant with deep familiarity and access to the executive and procurement tiers of major Italian oil and gas companies—specifically Saipem, the CCS Joint Venture, ENI, and their key subcontractors and EPCs. You will be instrumental in unlocking commercial pathways for our logistics and infrastructure business within the Mozambique LNG and broader East African energy corridor, converting high-level relationships into long-term commercial opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Build and nurture high-level relationships with decision-makers at Saipem (including CCS JV – Saipem, McDermott, Chiyoda), ENI (global procurement, regional project teams), and other key Italian service providers active in Mozambique and the region.
  • Position Alistair Group’s logistics, transport, and infrastructure capabilities as a strategic fit for ongoing and upcoming project needs.
  • Identify and pursue direct contract opportunities or indirect roles through JV / consortium structures.
  • Support the development and presentation of commercial proposals, tailored capability statements, and pricing strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with on-the-ground and executive teams to align business development strategy with operational capacity and timing.
Skills & Qualifications
  • 15+ years in business development, commercial strategy, or project development within the oil & gas sector.
  • Deep network and credible relationships with ENI, Saipem, and / or CCSJV at head office or major project level.
  • Prior experience in or strong understanding of Mozambique LNG, Cabo Delgado, or other Sub-Saharan Africa energy projects.
  • Proven track record of converting relationships into awarded contracts.
  • Fluent in English and Italian.
  • Highly self-motivated, commercially astute, and capable of working independently.
Deliverables
  • Weekly progress reports with contact summaries, meeting outcomes, and next steps.
  • Pipeline of commercial opportunities within target clients.
  • Support in proposal and tender submissions.
  • Guidance on positioning, pricing strategy, and key differentiators for target clients.
Compensation
  • Competitive monthly retainer, commensurate with experience.
  • Success-based incentives tied to contract wins or strategic milestones achieved.
  • Travel and expenses reimbursed as approved.
