Senior Business Developer - Commercial, Amazon Shipping

DESCRIPTION
This is a very exciting opportunity to join a new team in the Amazon Shipping business. We are looking for a highly driven, entrepreneurial, analytical and customer-obsessed individual to join the Business Development team in Italy. You will be responsible for developing a strong pipeline of the largest companies in Italy, detecting opportunities, negotiating with external companies, closing sales, and collecting market segment and customer insights to improve the product and delight Amazon customers.

You are the ideal candidate if:

  1. You are excited about contributing to launching and developing a new business.
  2. You are passionate about collaborating with different teams: Marketing, Customer Programs, Operations, Legal, etc.
  3. You have a proven track record in sales and executing to meet or exceed goals.
  4. You excel at establishing top-level relationships with customers, assessing their needs, and finding the best solutions.
  5. You are a self-starter and can juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ambiguous environment.
  6. You have experience in developing trustful relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including key accounts and teams across Operations, Procurement, Finance, and Legal.
  7. You can easily shift between strategic thinking and executing to deliver results.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Leadership: be part of the organization's leadership team and help implement the overall strategy and direction.
  2. Customer relationship management: Build and maintain strong top-level relationships with potential future strategic customers.
  3. Cross-functional collaboration: Work with operations, product, and tech leaders to manage the program and build a product that fits customer needs.
  4. Dive deep: Measure performance, identify gaps and opportunities, and lead the team to address them.
  5. Business development: Bring new customers to Amazon, develop the volume of shipping packages, ensure a good conversion rate, and do it with profitability in mind.

This role will be based in Milan.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree.
  2. Experience in business development, sales, and account management in B2B.
  3. Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  4. Strong ownership and ability to deliver results.
  5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively advise senior leadership.
  6. Ability to prioritize and demonstrate relentless discipline in setting and achieving goals.
  7. Professional proficiency in Italian and English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Preferred qualifications are not required to apply for a position at Amazon. If you have all the basic qualifications above, we'd love to hear from you.
  2. Advanced or master's degree or MBA.
  3. Experience in the logistics industry.
  4. Expert use of MS Office Suite, CRM (e.g., Salesforce.com), sales and marketing automation tools, eLearning tools.
