Job summary

Lear Corporation in Piemonte, Italy, seeks a Financial Controller to support financial targets through accurate reporting, cost control, project accounting, and compliance activities. You will work with Finance and Engineering leadership to provide insights and maintain strong internal controls.

The role focuses on month-end closings, budgeting, forecast accuracy, and project profitability, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in financial controlling or a related finance role.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with financial close processes, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings, including P&L, balance sheet, forecast, and budget reporting.
• Review and post journal entries and ensure timely completion of account reconciliations and financial analyses.
• Manage engineering work orders, purchase orders, and invoicing activities while monitoring project costs, revenues, and profitability.
• Analyze variances against forecasts, budgets, and project targets and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure Engineering and Tooling balances are properly accounted for in accordance with US GAAP and local GAAP requirements.
• Monitor overhead spending, labor hours, capital expenditures, and key performance indicators to support cost control and operational efficiency.
• Build strong partnerships with Engineering, Sales, Program Management, Purchasing, Cost Analysis teams, and senior management to support business objectives.
• Identify project-related financial risks and ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and SOX requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.


• Experience with financial close processes, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.


• Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools, preferably MFG/Pro, Hyperion, or similar platforms.


• Strong analytical skills with experience in cost control, variance analysis, internal controls, and SOX compliance.

Certifications / Licenses

CPA, ACCA, CMA, CIMA, or equivalent professional accounting certification preferred.
