Amazon Industrial Robotics seeks an Applied Scientist III to develop and deploy machine learning systems that enable robots to learn from fleet experience and improve performance in production environments. You will write critical scientific code, evaluate state-of-the-art ML techniques, and collaborate with robotics and operations teams to drive continuous learning and fleet optimization.

Competenze

• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning.
• PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, ML, robotics, OR statistics, or 12+ years building ML models.
• 5+ years applying ML to solve complex problems.
• Experience in ML, statistics, deep learning, NLP, or information retrieval.
• Publications, patents, or impactful production ML systems.

Mansioni

• Identify and devise new scientific approaches for continuous learning and fleet optimization.
• Lead design and delivery of complex ML solutions for continuous learning pipelines and predictive maintenance.
• Design and build ML models including RL training infrastructure and anomaly detection.
• Write significant portions of critical-path scientific code that is maintainable and scalable.
• Perform rapid experimentation with reproducible results across simulation and real robotics environments.
• Create evaluation benchmarks measuring model performance against operational outcomes.
• Influence team roadmap and priorities with scientific insights.
• Collaborate with robotics, manufacturing optimization, and fleet teams to ground approaches in operations.
• Publish research results when appropriate and mentor other scientists.
