Job summary

UNDP Rome Centre is seeking a Senior Advisor to provide high-level policy, programmatic, and political advisory support to UNDP leadership with a focus on Italy. The role involves strengthening strategic partnerships with host governments and intergovernmental bodies, and coordinating cross‑functional teams to align country, regional, and global programming.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in government and international organizations with management responsibilities.
• Proven track record in high-level political engagement and policy dialogue.
• Experience with senior government officials, especially in G7 and European Commission initiatives.
• Experience with Italian public institutions in international cooperation.
• Fluency in English; working knowledge of Italian is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead political and strategic advisory functions with UNDP Italy office.
• Coordinate cross-ministry engagements on Italian international initiatives.
• Develop partnerships and engage with public sector stakeholders for UNDP Rome Centre.
• Manage cross-functional teams and ensure program integration.
• Oversee knowledge management and lessons learned from programmes.
