Senior Administrative and Operations Manager

Transcrime – Joint Research Centre on Innovation and Crime of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna and University of Perugia, is looking for a Senior Administrative and Operations Manager .

The Centre is based in Milan and has a staff of around 30 people, including professors, researchers, PhD students, interns and administrative staff (project management and accounting, graphics, communication).

Role

The Senior Administrative and Operations Manager will coordinate an administrative team currently composed of 5 staff members responsible for project management, accounting, graphics, and communication. The role will also involve close collaboration with (a) the Centre’s management, (b) research staff, and (c) the relevant offices of Università Cattolica. The Manager will oversee and coordinate the following activities :

  • Accounting and budgeting activities of the Centre;
  • Assessment and allocation of resource needs for research activities;
  • Management of contracting and procurement processes;
  • Technical and logistical support for research activities;
  • Supervision of information flows between project teams and the Centre’s management;
  • Monitoring administrative efficiency of projects and process optimization;
  • Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills and Experience

  • Excellent command of Italian and very good written and spoken English (any additional foreign language is a plus);
  • Good knowledge of accounting and / or budget management processes in the public or private sector;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including excellent skills in Excel;
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Management Engineering, or related fields, or at least 5 years of experience in similar roles;
  • Strong attention to detail, autonomy, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage teams;
  • Preferred : familiarity with administrative management processes in research centres or institutes;
  • Preferred : knowledge of SAP.

Position Offered

Three-month trial contract, with the possibility of long-term position consolidation. Compensation and contract type will be commensurate with experience. Hybrid working mode (on-site / remote).
