A leading company, ANSYS, is seeking a Senior Accountant for their Milan office. This role involves maintaining accounting principles and managing tasks in Accounts Payable, Receivable, Fixed Assets, and month-end closing. The ideal candidate should have strong Italian GAAP knowledge and excellent communication skills, coupled with 5 years of relevant experience. Immediate availability is preferred.

Summary / Role Purpose

Reporting to the Local Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely generation of the financial statements and management reports. The Senior Accountant will assist the entity Finance Team and will be mainly responsible for daily accounting tasks related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, tax returns elaboration, and specific month-end closing tasks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Accounts payable : Registration and supervision of suppliers’ invoices. Preparation of weekly suppliers’ payment and accounts payable accounting.
• Accounts receivable : Registration and supervision of customer receipts, customer collections follow-up, accounts receivable accounting.
• Fixed assets : additions, disposals, and monthly depreciation.
• Monthly payroll booking.
• VAT monthly preparation.
• F24 payments using Desktop Telematico.
• Monthly closing tasks.
• Specific supervision of the local Junior Accountant.
• General Ledger monthly accounts reconciliations.
• Assist with corporate accounting tasks and special projects as needed.

Minimum Education / Certification Requirements and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or Diploma in Accounting.

Minimum proven 5 years’ experience in required responsibilities described above.

Technical knowledge of Italian GAAP.

Advanced English level due to constant verbal and written interaction with HQ and other European Subsidiaries.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to multi-task and work well independently.

Advanced use of Excel and other Microsoft Office products.

Strong commitment to quality and timely service.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

2 years of Big 4 audit experience preferred.

Prior experience within a multinational company would be beneficial.

Oracle ERP knowledge would be a plus.

Spanish or Greek languages would be a plus.

Place of work : Milan Centre.

Full time.

Hybrid in Milan (2-3 days / week on site).

Preferably with immediate availability.

Permanent Employment Contract.
