North Sails Apparel in Milano, Italy, seeks a Senior Accountant to manage general accounting activities, support month-end and year-end closings, and ensure accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has a degree in accounting and several years of international experience, strong knowledge of IFRS/applicable standards, and proficiency with ERP systems and Excel; English skills required.

Competenze

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Several years of general accounting experience in an international environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience supporting statutory audits is a plus.
  • Good command of English.

Mansioni

  • Manage general accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and adjusting entries.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes with deadlines.
  • Perform intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations; investigate discrepancies.

Reports To: Accounting and Reporting Manager

Scope of the Role

The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's general ledger, supporting statutory compliance and delivering timely financial reporting. The role contributes to maintaining strong financial controls, supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing general accounting activities, supporting financial closings, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage general accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations and adjusting entries.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with reporting deadlines.
  • Perform intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies where necessary.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of accounting records.
  • Support the preparation of documentation required for internal and external audits.
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and tax compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate accounting treatment of business transactions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies and audit requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Several years of experience in General Accounting within an international environment.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous experience supporting statutory audits is considered a strong advantage.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
