A Security Officer is responsible for protecting and serving MUSC Health Pee Dee Division patients, staff, and visitors, and for monitoring and protecting facilities and assets across the Pee Dee Division. Security Officers monitor and operate access control systems, security camera systems, intercoms, two-way radios, telephones, and alarm systems.
Education: Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience: Minimum One (1) year relevant experience or appropriate preferred education requirements. Preferred experience in healthcare security, corporate security, or law enforcement.
Physical Demand Level: Occasional Up to 33% of the time; Frequent 34%-66% of the time; Constant 67%-100% of the time. Constant requirements include standing, walking, and sitting; bending at the waist, kneeling, climbing stairs, reaching in all directions; full use of hands and legs; good finger dexterity; repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders; 20/40 vision corrected; ability to work indoors and outdoors with seasonal weather changes; ability to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted and lift from 36 inches to overhead for items more than 15 pounds.
