A leading company in security management is seeking a Security Analyst to enhance business continuity processes and security compliance. The role includes developing effective risk management strategies, coordinating emergency response, and offering detailed analysis to improve safety protocols. Ideal candidates will have an advanced degree in a relevant field and strong analytical skills.
include monitoring the security environment, producing security reports, providing timely security information, and monitoring implementation of security risk management measures and business continuity plans. Additionally, the analyst will also assist in coordinating security and business continuity operations, contributing to emergency response plans, and ensuring IFAD personnel are kept informed about security developments.
Key Functions and Results
1. BUSINESS CONTINUITY PLANNING (BCP)
Create business continuity plan templates to ensure critical business functions remain resilient.
Review and report on the status, consistency, and alignment of BCPs with security plans.
Develop and maintain an automated Business Continuity Planning tool with dashboard reporting and access for key internal stakeholders.
Support the Senior Security Officer and Regional Security Officers in coordinating business continuity and emergency preparedness activities, ensuring that IFAD's response plans are up to date and tested.
Assist in evaluating, reporting on, and improving business continuity plans and procedures.
Design and test strategies for recovery, restoration, mitigation, and prevention.
2. SECURITY COMPLIANCE MONITORING
Monitor and report on compliance of IFAD and its personnel with applicable security risk management policies and procedures to ensure security and safety of personnel, assets and premises.
Analyse compliance trends and provide regular reports to the Senior Security Officer and Senior Management on mission security adherence.
Identify potential compliance risks and suggest mitigation strategies.
Collate, analyse and provide key data and documentation for Audit activities and in support of Security Key Risk Indicator (KRI) reporting.
Develop and maintain security risk management compliance and business continuity planning tools with dashboard reporting and access for key stakeholders : e.g. IFAD Country office personnel, senior management, Audit, etc.
3. SECURITY ADVICE
Provide analysis and advice to the Senior Security Officer and relevant stakeholders regarding safety and security matters impacting IFAD personnel, premises, assets, and operations.
Support responses to critical security incidents and emergencies by providing real-time advice and coordinating actions as required.
Assist in advising relevant IFAD internal stakeholders on security risks and response strategies.
Produce regular security reports, including risk assessments, security incident analyses, and threat forecasts.
Identify trends and patterns in security incidents and provide recommendations to mitigate emerging threats.
4. SECURITY INFORMATION MANAGEMENT, ADVISORIES, AND ALERTS
Monitor, analyse, and report on security developments, ensuring that managers are regularly updated on security conditions.
Assist in disseminating of security advisories, alerts, and warnings to IFAD personnel based on real-time assessments.
Ensure IFAD personnel have access to timely security information and briefings, including updates on evolving security situations and threats.
Monitor the security environment and assess the effectiveness of current security measures, proposing adjustments as needed.
5. SECURITY RISK ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING
Assist the Senior and Regional Security Officers in the monitoring and implementation of IFAD's security policies in alignment with the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS) across all locations where IFAD has staff or assets.
Conduct regular security assessments of IFAD offices, project areas, and field operations to identify risks and vulnerabilities, recommending improvements.
Coordinate security incident reporting across all IFAD offices, ensuring that all incidents affecting personnel and property are documented, analysed, and followed up.
Provide recommendations for enhancing security procedures and addressing gaps in compliance with security standards.
Develop and maintain detailed incident databases to track security trends and responses.
6. COORDINATION AND LIAISON
Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing timely security updates and briefings.
Coordinate dissemination of security information to IFAD security personnel and internal clients, considering levels of confidentiality and sensitivity to enhance operational security.
Support the maintenance of emergency communications systems and ensure that appropriate security equipment (e.g., vehicles, telecommunications, PPE) is available and fit for purpose in all IFAD operations.
7. TRAINING AND AWARENESS
Promote a culture of security awareness and risk mitigation, ensuring that staff are informed about the security situation in their duty station.
Support the design and delivery of security and compliance training programs to enhance staff awareness and promote a culture of risk mitigation.
Provide guidance to staff on emergency procedures, including evacuation, relocation, and personal security measures.
8. SECURITY POLICY AND PLAN DEVELOPMENT
Support the development and implementation of security and business continuity plans and protocols, including evacuation and emergency response procedures.
Assist in drafting security policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), manuals and contingency plans.
Provide analytical support during the review of security and business continuity policies to ensure they align with best practices and the UN's evolving security needs.
9. MANAGERIAL FUNCTIONS
Is accountable for integrity, transparency, and equity in the personal use of assigned IFAD resources, including equipment, supplies and, as applicable, staff supervised.

The work requires analyses of processes and interpreting a body of rules, regulations and precedents. Established in the field of work, the impact of the work performed has direct effect on the professionalism of the Analyst and the overall reputation of the team for high quality work in terms of both substantive depth and adaptive relevance to emerging issues and changing client needs.The Security Analyst at this level is responsible for tasks that require specialized knowledge and expertise in their field. They often work as part of a team, supporting senior staff, and assist in the management of security and business continuity services across IFAD operations. The role involves applying policies, rules, and regulations to ensure the safety and security of personnel and assets. Analysts at this level may focus on a specific area of security or assist in overseeing multiple areas within the organization, ensuring efficient service delivery to the assigned client base. They play an important role in implementing security and business continuity procedures and ensuring adherence to established standards.
Working Relationships
The work relationships of Security Analysts involve both written and verbal communications to obtain and provide information regarding decisions on specific cases or to explain why an action has been taken or to obtain information needed to take decisions or support further security processes. Internal Fund contacts extend to supervisors and personnel throughout the Fund to seek understanding and obtain the assistance or cooperation of persons who are involved mainly in routine security and business continuity matters. This requires skill in building constructive, effective relationships. External contacts are predominantly with counterparts in other organizations as well as local authorities.
Within delegated authority, maintain continuous liaison within IFAD and its personnel with responsibilities for Security, Business Continuity, organisational resilience and compliance monitoring activities; and with external entities including United Nations Agencies Funds and Programmes (AFPs), United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), and International Financial Institution (IFI) personnel mainly engaged in similar roles and activities.

Education :
Advanced university degree from an accredited institution. Areas - security management, management, business continuity management, organisational resilience, business administration, disaster or emergency management, or related area. A bachelor's degree, or similar level qualification from a Police / Military Academy, in combination with an additional 4-year relevant experience will also be considered in lieu of an advanced university degree.
