Job summary

Expedia Group in Rome, Lazio, Italy, is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join the Experimentation Platform team. This full-time on-site role offers opportunities to design, develop, test, and deploy features in production systems with cloud-based services and APIs.

You will work with Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, Python or similar, contribute to scalable services, write clean code, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and its ecosystem (Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, Python or similar).
• Understanding of core software engineering fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, modular design, testing, debugging, and version control.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support features within services owned by the team.
• Translate requirements into maintainable code, APIs, data changes, tests, and checks.
• Contribute to design discussions, identify dependencies and risk with input from seniors.
• Write clean, well-documented code and communicate status and risks clearly.
• Build automated tests (unit/integration) and improve test coverage as needed.
