A leading biopharmaceutical company seeks a Scientist to join the Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls Group. This role focuses on process validation, synthesis, purification, and characterization of molecules, requiring strong expertise in organic chemistry and collaborative mindset. The successful candidate will engage in data review, mentoring, and development of synthetic approaches, contributing significantly to innovative drug development.
Job Description
Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARWR) is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company that develops medicines to treat intractable diseases by silencing the genes that cause them. Using a broad portfolio of RNA chemistries and efficient modes of delivery, Arrowhead therapies trigger the RNA interference mechanism to induce rapid, deep, and durable knockdown of target genes. RNA interference, or RNAi, is a mechanism present in living cells that inhibits the expression of a specific gene, thereby affecting the production of a specific protein. Arrowhead's RNAi-based therapeutics leverage this natural pathway of gene silencing.
Arrowhead focuses on developing innovative drugs for diseases with a genetic basis, often characterized by overproduction of proteins involved in the disease. The depth and versatility of our RNAi technologies enable us to address conditions across various therapeutic areas and pursue disease targets not accessible by small molecules and biologics. We are leading the field in bringing RNAi therapies beyond liver diseases, with clinical pipeline targets in liver and lung, along with promising preclinical candidates.
Our corporate headquarters is in Pasadena, CA, with research and development teams in Madison, WI, and San Diego, CA. Our employees are nimble, science-driven innovators collaborating to bring new therapies to patients in need.
The Scientist will work in the Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls Group, focusing on process validation and aspects of small-molecule and macromolecule process development. The role emphasizes group data review, technical report writing, and maintenance. This position is ideal for an individual with an organic chemistry background interested in synthesis, purification, and characterization of oligonucleotides and bioconjugates, with a focus on process validation.
Salary range in Wisconsin: $80,000—$100,000 USD.
