Descrizione del lavoro

Job Description

Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARWR) is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing medicines that treat intractable diseases by silencing the genes responsible. Our portfolio leverages RNA chemistries and delivery methods to trigger RNA interference (RNAi), a natural cellular mechanism that inhibits specific gene expression, leading to the production of targeted proteins.

Our focus is on diseases with a genetic basis, especially those involving overproduction of certain proteins. Our RNAi technologies allow us to target conditions across various therapeutic areas, including liver and lung diseases, with a pipeline of clinical and preclinical candidates.

Headquartered in Pasadena, CA, with R&D teams in Madison, WI, and San Diego, CA, our team comprises science-driven innovators dedicated to bringing new therapies to patients.

The Position

We are seeking a Scientist to join the Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls Group, focusing on process development, characterization, and validation of small-molecule and macromolecule therapeutics. This role is ideal for someone with an organic chemistry background interested in synthesis and purification of oligonucleotides and bioconjugates.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform synthesis, purification, and characterization of small molecules and macromolecules, developing robust procedures.
  2. Develop synthetic approaches in collaboration with senior scientists, considering large-scale synthesis and validation.
  3. Work with colleagues to prepare complex organic constructs.
  4. Analyze targets using standard analytical methods.
  5. Prepare technical reports, presentations, SOPs, and policies.
  6. Provide troubleshooting recommendations.
  7. Maintain detailed laboratory documentation.
  8. Track project timelines, generate status updates, and communicate findings to management.
  9. Coordinate delivery of materials internally and externally.
  10. Interpret experimental data and discuss follow-up actions with supervisors.
  11. Assist and mentor junior scientists, fostering continuous learning.
  12. Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
Requirements
  • MS in Chemistry or related field with at least 5 years of laboratory experience OR BS in Chemistry with 8+ years of experience.
  • Experience in synthetic organic chemistry.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Eagerness to learn new techniques.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with both small and large molecule synthesis in academic or industrial settings.
  • Familiarity with GLP/GMP regulations and process validation.
  • Experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, UV-Vis, mass spectrometry.
  • Proficiency with JMP or similar statistical software.
  • Ability to perform complex math and interpret graphs.

Salary range in Wisconsin: $80,000—$100,000 USD. Arrowhead offers competitive salaries and benefits. Applicants must have authorization to work in the US.
