A leading company in the aerospace sector seeks a System Engineer to oversee satellite missions and ensure successful project execution. In this role, you'll bring your expertise in satellite systems and lead diverse projects from design to launch, supporting both commercial and institutional clients. Descrizione del lavoro

We are looking for a System Engineer on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in Rome or Milan, Italy. The selected candidate should demonstrate integrity and professionalism.

You will join a team of system engineers, bringing your experience in leading and driving satellite activities throughout the entire project lifecycle, including design, development, integration, verification, launch, and in-orbit operations. You could be involved either in early phases (0-B1) or in consolidation and delivery phases (B2-E), for both new developments and recurring projects based on OHB Italia's product line. Typical applications are in the Earth observation sector, serving both commercial and institutional customers.

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Additionally, upon selection, they will undergo a security screening conducted by an external provider (further details will be provided at the interview stage).

The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Lead the development and qualification of small satellites;
  2. Define satellite requirements for optical and radar Earth-observation missions;
  3. Perform satellite functional analysis and design trade-offs;
  4. Manage satellite internal and external interfaces;
  5. Plan activities in detail;
  6. Support satellite verification and AIT activities;
  7. Participate in launch campaigns.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Master’s, PhD, or equivalent education;
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience;
  • Strong knowledge of satellite systems engineering, including requirements engineering, functional analysis, verification control;
  • Knowledge of optical and/or radar payloads and missions;
  • Previous experience with commercial and institutional customers;
  • Experience in various satellite engineering domains (e.g., Electronics, structure, software);
  • Experience in satellite verification, including participation in AIT campaigns;
  • Excellent sense of responsibility;
  • Structured, hands-on work approach;
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Customer-oriented mindset;
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
