The End-to-End Navigation System department in Italy is seeking a Navigation System Engineer who will report directly to the Head of Department. The responsibilities include:

1. Supporting the execution of programs like GALILEO, Moonlight, LEO PNTIod, etc.
2. Contributing to new business opportunities acquisition.
3. Fostering R&D activities in satellite navigation.

Location: Rome.

Role as a Thales system engineer

In this role, you will:

1. Analyze customer needs via advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes.
2. Formalize specifications and architecture to propose optimal solutions.
3. Prepare and execute system integration, verification, and validation tests.
4. Define test plans and procedures at the system level.
5. Ensure technical coherence and integration of system design, interfaces, and performance.
6. Design architecture for command and control systems.
7. Demonstrate solutions to customers.

Additionally, you will:

1. Contribute to the growth of engineering activities, including new contracts and strategic development.
2. Engage in R&D through proposing and executing new studies.
3. Collaborate with universities through thesis and internship programs.
4. Participate in international meetings and conferences worldwide.

Language requirement: Fluent English, spoken and written.

Competencies:

1. A master's degree in electronics, telecommunications, computer science, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of basic telecommunication principles.
3. Familiarity with System Engineering Tools (e.g., MBSE, Requirement Management, Simulation Tools, Matlab).
4. At least 5 years of experience in Satellite Navigation and/or Communication Systems.
5. Experience leading engineering projects or activities.
6. Ability to adapt to change, team-oriented, proactive, and innovative problem solver.
