Inside the SATCOM LoB Engineering department in Rome, we are looking for a Satellite Communication System Engineer.

About the job

As a member of the LoB SATCOM Engineering, you will be supporting activities relating to telecommunications ground and user segment technologies and products.

You will work in international multidisciplinary teams that apply a ECSS based methodology for the design, development and validation of systems. Your team consists of representatives of the customer, suppliers of subsystems and other technical or program management figures. In the team you are responsible of the delivery of system engineering outputs.

This role will support the definition and development of solution requirements, designs and IVVQ deliverables across a number of bids and projects/products.

Duties:

Support to technical management of project and R&D activities;

Write and decompose system requirements and define the best method for verification;

Develop conceptual designs and models;

Define and manage interfaces between solution elements;

Perform scientific analysis to contribute to R&D activities;

Write technical responses for customers.

Academic knowledge of TLC and SATCOM technical architectures, as well as Digital Signal Processing;

Knowledge of ECSS or INCOSE system engineering methodologies and principles;

Ability to analyse link budgets for TLC systems, if needed;

Knowledge of IP network engineering concepts.

Ability to work autonomously;

Good analytical, organizational and reporting skills;

Proactive attitude to solve problems and an interest in innovative technologies;

Education

Master degree in STEM disciplines, with preference to telecommunication engineering;

Knowledge of English Language at proficient level (B2 level as a minimum is mandatory);

Additional requirements (Nice to have);

Holding of relevant IP network certifications, such as Cisco, Fortinet, etc.;

Experience with IBM DOORS for requirements management;

Knowledge of Model Based System Engineering practices and tools, such as Arcadia Capella for MBSE System Engineering Methodology;

Experience in R&D activities for Italian and European institutions, such as ASI, ESA, UE will be considered as an asset.
