Overview

The Human Technopole Foundation (HT) is an interdisciplinary research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, whose aim is to develop innovative strategies to promote human health and healthy aging through a multidisciplinary and integrated approach, combining genomics, computational biology, structural biology, neuroscience and health data science. HT scientists work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment to help promote life science research nationally and internationally. In line with its mission to serve the research community at large, HT operates National Facilities, specifically aimed at making HT’s technologies, methods and tools available to the national scientific community.

The Human Technopole Foundation is looking for a SAP S / 4HANA Expert to work within the ICT & Digitisation area and will report to the Head of ICT and Digitisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's ERP system to ensure its alignment with business processes. This role involves designing custom applications, troubleshooting issues, and supporting users across departments to maximize the system’s efficiency and functionality. As a key contributor, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address development needs, resolve operational challenges, and deliver ERP training to end users in coordination with the HR Training area.

Your main tasks and responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom applications to enhance organizational workflows;
• Design, test, and debug software solutions to ensure seamless functionality.
• Collect and analyze development requirements from various departments to deliver tailored ERP enhancements.
• Maintain and update existing applications to remain compatible with business needs and technological advancements.
• Ensure the smooth operation of the SAP S / 4HANA ERP system, critical for supporting administrative and operational processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve ERP issues, providing timely solutions to minimize disruptions.
• Assist with system upgrades, maintenance activities, and the implementation of new features or modules.
• Provide support to ERP users, addressing inquiries and offering technical assistance.
• Collaborate with the HR Training team to deliver user training sessions on ERP functionalities, ensuring proper usage and adoption across the organization;
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify process improvements and system optimization opportunities.
• Stay informed on updates to SAP S / 4HANA and recommend enhancements to leverage new functionalities.
• Ensure compliance with data integrity and system security standards.

Requirements

Mandatory requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience);
• Minimum 3 years of experience with SAP S / 4HANA Finance, SCM and SRM, including system configuration and user support;
• SAP S / 4HANA Public / Private Cloud Implementation consultant certification (Financial Accounting, Sourcing and Procurement, System Administration etc);
• In-depth knowledge of SAP S / 4HANA, including development, configuration, and customization;
• Proficiency in programming languages and tools relevant to SAP (e.g., SAP Cloud Application Studio);
• Strong understanding of ERP system operations, including financial accounting, procurement, and supply chain modules;
• Experience with testing, debugging, and troubleshooting ERP applications;
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken;
• Full professional proficiency in Italian, with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred requirements :

• University degree in Computer Science or related field;
• Previous experience with a similar role in another Research Institute.
