The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, 3 years of experience as an SAP CO Functional Analyst, and is fluent in English and Italian. This position also requires strong analytical skills and the ability to manage deliverables and timelines in a fast-paced environment.

ABB is seeking an SAP Functional Analyst with a strong background in Controlling processes to support projects and implementations in the countries part of the “Italian cluster”.

• This position reports to

Global IS Department Mgr, ERP GCC

• Your responsibilities
• Collects & analyzes ABB requirements from local AFC functions (mainly Italy / France but also Croatia-Serbia / Greece / Turkey / Spain) and from the Group. Requires good knowledge of period-end procedures and Record to Report processes, including Group Consolidation (e.g., USGAAP / IFRS accounting principles).
• Understands AFC processes. Provides expert advice. Designs and assists in developing business process descriptions. Has good controlling understanding, works directly with the AFC team to provide optimal solutions, manages deliverables, and activities. Builds strong relationships within the AFC team and ensures timelines are met.
• Translates project and change requirements into specifications for internal and external delivery parties. Creates and maintains the Business Blueprint (BBP - detailed process description and requirements document).
• Guides and monitors task completion, sharing expert knowledge and advice without line responsibility. Coordinates with other SAP module consultants for integration requirements.
• Proactively supports the installation, management, maintenance, and optimization of internal and cross-functional processes related to IS solutions/services.
• Creates and executes plans for SAP requirements, revising as needed to meet changing demands. Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), contributing technical and business process/data expertise to support operations or develop new software.
• Supports the Application Run Organization in incident and problem resolution when functional verification is needed. Serves as a reference for Internal Control / SOX in the Controlling area.
• Your background
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Economics, or a related discipline, with about 3 years of experience as an SAP CO Functional Analyst, including at least 2 full SAP project implementations.
• Technical skills: SAP CO modules (Product Costing, Profitability Analysis, Revenue Recognition, including Result analysis methods), strong integration with Accounting (NewGL + CoS), Sales, and Logistics modules. Knowledge of Project System, especially concerning Controlling and production integration. Report painter/writer skills, query design, and basic ABAP debugging skills are required.
• Additional experience considered a plus: S/4HANA implementation, BW/BI, and Material Ledger experience.
• Background in similar ABB manufacturing industries is advantageous.
• Fluent in English and Italian, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to ABB locations.
• Ability to think independently, challenge traditional solutions, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Capable of working under pressure and prioritizing tasks.
